a new home for teaching

a new home for teaching

We recently completed a new home for a college in Ellesmere Port. It’s actually a teaching resource, a fully sustainable house incorporating the latest technologies for energy efficiency and carbon reduction. The house will be used to enable learners to interact with the new technologies and to provide a visual and practical element to learning.

In addition to a conventional looking kitchen-diner and living room, there is a display area (pictured) where we’ve crammed in as many different zero-carbon systems as we could. Upstairs is a classroom for 20 students.

The project will address the skills gaps in decarbonisation by supporting the skills developments of SMEs and learners regarding renewable technologies.

We’re delighted to receive a very high EPC rating for the building – it could have been improved if we’d added some more PV solar panels.

We’ll add more photos of the project soon.
