Architectural Designer / BIM Technologist
(with minimum 3-5 years industry experience)

We’re looking for a technically-minded person to fulfil a full-time role (based in Manchester city centre) to undertake the following tasks:

  1. Produce feasibility and planning drawings;
  2. Draw design, manufacturing & assembly drawings (using Revit Adaptive Components); and
  3. Use BIM data to accurately calculate all material/component dimensions & quantities;

plus…

  1. Use BIM data for environmental systems, lifecycle evaluation and costings, etc (training to be provided);
  2. Check & update all prices of materials/components (and carry out price comparisons with alternative suppliers);
  3. Check all designs, details and specifications comply with Building Regulations and other relevant standards;
  4. Research alternative appropriate products;
  5. Produce drawings that form Assembly Instructions (although the final copy may be completed by graphic designer);
  6. Develop Method Statements and Risk Assessments;
  7. Refine designs & detailing in response to manufacturing & assembly feedback (including lean implementation);
  8. Refine designs and detailing to improve design quality and aesthetics; and
  9. Update Operations & Maintenance Manual for building users.

 

Software skills required: Autodesk REVIT / Apple Numbers or Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
